It was Mr. Desmond! Peter shouted his name and then Mr. Desmond saw him. Peter spilt out the whole story about Sir Philip. Mr. Desmond then made a plan if Sir Philip and his men come; they were going to act as real policemen. Then they saw Sir Philip and his men over the horizon. When they reached Mr. Desmond, they asked them if they saw two scoundrels, but before he could finish his sentence he saw them huddled in the corner. Then Sir Philip said that he was looking for them, because they were horse stealers. Mr. Desmond explained that he was under arrest for being part of the conspiracy. They took him into the wagon and took him as a prisoner. Sir Philip then sees Kit as her real self and they have a small conversation. After that Mr. Desmond tells them that the play (in which the Queen was going to die in) was going to be preformed two days earlier.

Kit responds to that with the Queen’s own words “Although I have the body of a woman, I have the heart and the stomach of a man!” In the end, Peter and Kit get married and have sons.
